A woman gives life to her child and she is able to give life
to a whole nation. Women have very important roles in moving their
countries towards prosperity and improvement. Currently, their role
in the African society is not only cooking, cleaning or bearing
children, but also contributing in all fields and positions.
This is what has become obvious not only in Africa but all over the
world. Even though the African woman has become a concern not only
in Africa, but worldwide, it is rare to find any website talking
about African women, their rights and affairs.
Our project discusses the role of African women in peace building, Traditional
religion and culture, economic life, decision-making and Education as
well as their role in African history. It focuses on problems African
women face such as, Violence against women, early marriage, female genital
mutilation (FGM), Gender versus women,
employment, obstacles and difficulties with equality and so on. Women
played an important role in African history and are still continuing to
do so thus our greatest intention is to portray the greatness of the African.
Our main goal on creating this site is to correct
the outer world's point of view about the African women. It is a real
fact that African women are misunderstood as they are thought to be
oppressed and dominated, but here we introduce the reality they live
in as well as their importance in their families and societies.
Our women are in need of recognition; their role in different fields
cannot be neglected. However, more steps must be taken towards
improving and stimulating their role in the African society by
combating poverty and disease. In addition, the world should focus
on reproductive health issues and education as we all believe that
if you educate a woman you educate a family and build a future;
increasing their role in African economy and decision making is
essential for their activation and empowerment.

 Women Status
In this Section we discuss Women's Staus in Africa. We divided this section
into two major subsections. The first subsection is
Women's social status which discusses violence against women, its
definitions (Physical violence, Sexual violence, Emotional violence and domestic
violence) and its forms (e.g Early mariiage and FGM) as well gender equality and
some diffuclties with equality
The other section is
Women's Professional Status in which we focus on the African woman's role in
Economy and their participation in various activities; In addition to that we
discuss female
educaion
and some examples of African countries which have taken several steps towards
enhancing female education like: Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Uganda, Rwanda and
Liberia.

As partener in society, women must take part in politics and decision making.
Starting form this point, we will discuss some issues concerning her role in
politics in addition to showing her role in
decision making throughout Excel charts. The assistance of
women
in peacemaking, from Somalia to South Africa, have gone mostly unnoticed and
dismissed by governments and insurgents who consider creating war and peace to
be men's work. In addition, African women have often been relegated to the role
of "victim" by well-intentioned diplomats and aid agencies. Nevertheless, women
have fought their own battles for a seat at the peace table.
